Jane Doe - Takahashi Minami

So yesterday our beloved Sou-chan Takahashi Minami announced her graduation. :(
I was actually pretty shocked about those news and I still can't really accept this fact. However there is still a year left until the actual graduation and I hope that we will see a lot of things in this comin year. And I hope that Takamina will continue her solo career after her graduation.
That's why I want to write a review of Takamina's first Solo Single "Jane Doe"

I'm taking the Type B cover since it's the one I like the most.

Actually since I first saw Takamina -that was Takamina's extra section of the Majisuka Gakuen Making- I really started to like her. She also was the first real member I got to see -unfortunately not in person.

So of course I really hoped that her Solo debut, which was announced during the second day of the "AKB48 in TOKYO DOME ~1830m no Yume~" Concert, would be worth it. And man, it really is worth it's money.

But now let's talk about Takamina's actual Song.

First off, Jane Doe actaully is a pretty difficult song.
The intro is a rather slow and quiet ballad portion which is sung with a gentle voice, and suddenly after the intro the tempo increases and suddenly the Song belongs to the Rock genre. Furthermore the song continues to stay high spirited. It also has lot of obvious note inflections which let every line stand out.
Personally I really think that Rock really suits Takamina's voice since she has a really strong one but still she is also able to probably sing quiter songs like "Yaburete Hane" -a coupling Song of "Jane Doe"- or "Migikata" -which was originally Maeda Atsuko's Song.

I really like the chosen title "Jane Doe" since it's almost like Takamina has two different sides of herself and that you barely really understands who she really is or how she really feels.
Takamina has this really girly side and also her serious side which are easy to understand and also seen often. However you never really knows what is really going on behind those masks/sides of her. I guess if you really would get to know her you would learn a lot of things you would have never believed are part of Takamina.
But now let's move on to the funny part - My personal opinion on the PV.

Enjoy

Mh.. Okay...

She really looks dazzling.

Now her other Side. Kinda dark

Ma ii ka...

So that was the PV of Takahashi Minami's first Single "Jane Doe"

*** Attention Personal Opinion ***

Like the title already implies that Takamina is Jane Doe. In this case there is Jane Doe the thief and Jane "Takamina" Doe the singer. While Jane Doe the singer is well known and loved by her audience and also loves the attention of those, her alter ego, Jane Doe the thief, isn't really known by anyone or more  like noone would associate those two persons with each other. Two polar opposites combined in one person.

I really liked how they used the mirror reflections to show that Jane Doe and Jane "Takamina" Doe are one and the same persons.

Insofar Takamina can be compared to Jane Doe because -like I mentioned earlier- both have two personalities combined in one person. And no I'm not talking about Schizophrenia.
Takamina has this playfully, girly and shy character which is often seen when she is together with people/member she likes (Kojima Haruna, Minegishi Minami, Okada Nana, Akimoto Sayaka) bute she also has a strict, powerful and caring character which often displayed at concerts, events or when she scolds or when she is consulted by someone. However you probably will never see the true Takahashi Minami, you will just see one side of her, the mask which is reserved for the public.

Personally I really think this song fits Takamina the best. While the inro, the ballad potion of the song stands for Takamina's calm, girly nature, the remaining part of the song, the rock potion stands for her strong-willed nature which is seen by far more often than her calm self.

Still the one big mistery to me is that goddamn tower. I really don't get the funkction of it but
maa ii ka...
